Georgia Army National Guard Pvt. Daniel J. Houten is all smiles as he prepares to board a bus leaving the Naitonal Guard GED Plus Program for basic training at Fort Benning, Ga., Monday, Jan. 30, 2012.
Prior to joining the Guard, Houten served as an armored personnel carrier mechanic with the Israel Defense Forces. He received his GED diploma and graduated in the top 10 percent of his class, Friday, Jan. 27, 2012.
