Camp Chappo, the 22 area of Marine Corps Base (MCB) Camp Pendleton, is comprised of several units that support the I Marine Expeditionary Force (I MEF). Marine Corps Air Station Camp Pendleton, being the most prominent in the 22/23 area, facilitates day and night flight operations, supports strategic lift operations, and provides aviation ground support to I MEF and other visiting units.
