Army National Guard soldiers compete in the state-level Best Warrior competition Feb. 3-5, 2012, at Camp Swift, Bastrop, Texas. The annual event, now in its sixth year, features the brigade winners in two levels of competition, junior enlisted and non-commissioned officer of the year. Evaluators include brigade sergeants major up to the Texas Military Forces senior enlisted adviser with tasks ranging from individual weapons qualification and the confidence course to a written essay and appearance board.
