The amphibious assault ship USS Peleliu launches Landing Craft Utility 1635 off the coast of San Clemente Island for the beach assault phase of exercise Iron Fist 2012. The bilateral training exercise between U.S. Marines and the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force is designed to increase interoperability and amphibious capabilities.
