Mr. Matt Kucas, Technical Services Department Head, discusses some of the ongoing research to operations projects being implemented at the Joint Typhoon Warning Center (JTWC). JTWC works with a variety of government and academic organizations to develop, test, and provide feedback on new satellite and modeling techniques to improve tropical cyclone forecast accuracy and efficiency. JTWC hosted the Tropical Cyclone Conference to bring together scientists, academics, and operational forecasters from around the world to share the latest research and operational advances in the tropical cyclone world.
