After completing Fort Jackson's U.S. Army Drill Sergeant Academy, Sgt. Donovan B. Durham dons the iconic campaign hat during a graduation ceremony April 17 at the post theater. Durham carries a Family tradition with him as he becomes a drill sergeant. His father, retired Master Sgt. Dean Durham, graduated the same academy and became the deputy commandant while stationed at Fort Jackson. Sgt. Durham wore the drill sergeant identification badge his father earned during the ceremony to honor his legacy. (Photo Credit: Alexandra Shea, IMCOM)
