Command Sgt. Maj. Joseph Menard, white hat, explained the purpose of the gift he presented to the 14th Sgt. Maj. of the Army, Raymond Chandler III on Jan. 25, 2012. Present was California Army National Guard Command Sgts. Maj. Harold London and James Norris, right. Menard was able to frame an old drawing from April 1942, that shows how a Soldier was suppose to present his individual living space for inspection. The sketch shows items used during World War II and in some of the barracks the same exact viewpoint can be found after 70 years. A piece of history that will last forever in the hands of the top enlisted soldier in the U.S. Army.
