NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (May 14, 2019) Mass Communication Specialist 1st Class Joshua Sheppard, from Norfolk, assigned to USS Gerald R. Ford's (CVN 78) media department, receives a Naval Air Force Atlantic letter of commendation from Lt. Cmdr. Anthony Falvo, Ford's public affairs officer, during an awards-at-quarters ceremony in the ship's media shop. Sheppard was recognized for his leadership while responding to a class charlie fire on the ship.
