Sgt. Sean Case of El Reno, Okla., receives a Purple Heart medal from Col. Michael Kinnison, officer-in-charge of the 45th Infantry Brigade Combat Team demobilization, for wounds received in action on Oct. 25, 2011, in Afghanistan. Case is an Infantryman with Company B, 1st Battalion, 179th Infantry. He has used the Oklahoma National Guard Tuition Fee Waiver to attend Southwestern University in Weatherford, Okla. Case has been a member of the Oklahoma Army National Guard for more than five years. In his civilian career, he works as a security guard for the Lucky Star Casino in Clinton, Okla. He was one of more the 2,200 Oklahoma Army National Guard soldiers to serve in Afghanistan for the past eight months.
