Joey Tynch, commander, Task Force 73, speaks to U.S. and Royal Thai Navy (RTN) Sailors at the RTN Submarine Command Team Trainer during Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) Thailand 2019. During CARAT, the U.S. and RTN navies spent 10 days conducting submarine operations and tatics knowledge exchanges and running integrated watch team scenarios in the RTN submarine simulator. CARAT, the U.S. Navy's oldest and longest continually running regional exercise in South and Southeast Asia, strengthens partnerships between regional navies and enhances maritime security cooperation throughout the Indo-Pacific.
