Staff Sgt. Casey Fletcher, 97th Operations Support Squadron weather technician, gathers information to create forecasts on the current and future weather conditions at Altus AFB and surrounding mission critical areas. The forecasts created are relayed directly to wing leadership and impact daily missions. The weather flight is responsible for administering weather cautions, watches, warnings, advisories, and notifications 24 hours a day and predicts anything from fog and scattered storms to snow and tornadoes with a goal of 95 percent accuracy. Additionally, weather briefings are provided aircrews for missions, typically covering the entire central United States.
