Local Vietnamese men assisting the Joint POW/MIA Accounting Command and the Vietnam Office for Seeking Missing Persons, use shovels to remove sediment from a stream bed in Binh Dinh province, Vietnam, March 15, 2012. The sediment will be screened and carefully inspected for any sign of osseous material or other evidence that can help identify a soldier missing from the Vietnam Conflict. JPAC's mission is to conduct global search, recovery and laboratory operations to identify unaccounted-for Americans from past conflicts in order to support the Department of Defense's personnel accounting efforts.
