U.S. Marine Corps Col. Richard Anderson, (right) commanding officer, Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Camp Pendleton, and Jennifer Mullane, (middle) fitness center manager, MCAS, and Col. William Bartolomea, (left) commanding officer, Marine Aircraft Group 39, take part in a ribbon-cutting ceremony marking the grand opening of the High Intensity Tactical Training (HITT) gym on MCAS Camp Pendleton, California, June 21, 2019. The former CH-46E Sea Knight simulator hangar was repurposed into the HITT gym, which now houses a wide assortment of weight training equipment.
“Opening this HITT gym makes it more convenient for Marines to stay fit because they used to have to leave the air station in order to lift weights,” said Anderson. “Now they do not have to travel as much.”
