U.S. Army Capt. Christopher M. Dixon, company commander with 2nd Battalion, 3rd Field Artillery Regiment, 1st Armored Division, 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, was awarded the Edmund L. Gruber Award at Fort Bliss, Texas, June 21, 2019.
The award was presented to Dixon by the Fires Center of Excellence's command sergeant major, Command Sgt. Maj. Kevin M. King.
The award recognizes a Field Artillery Soldier every year for outstanding individual thought, innovation, and overall excellence that results in significant contributions to the Field Artillery's war fighting capabilities. Dixon's countless efforts have played a vital role in the success of 2-3 FA Battalion.
"I know Dixon and I know how hard he works. I am incredibly proud to work alongside him, and I know that they couldn't have chosen a better person to receive this award," said Lt. Col. William J. Tolbert, battalion commander for 2-3 FA.
