190626-N-UM706-1026 GULF OF OMAN (June 26, 2019) Boatswain’s Mate 2nd Class Chris Stevenson, from Miami, Fla., assigned to the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Nitze (DDG 94), performs pre-flight checks on an MH-60R Sea Hawk helicopter assigned to the “Grandmasters” of Maritime Helicopter Strike Squadron (HSM) 46. Nitze is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and Pacific through the Western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points.
