U.S.Army Capt. Mamadou Sylla, theater security cooperation planner for U.S. Army Africa, gives a speech to a group of U.S. and Senegalese Army cadets during the U.S. Army Cadet Command (ROTC)'s Cultural Understanding and Language Proficiency program in Thies, Senegal.
Sylla was born and lived in Dakar, Senegal for 26 years before coming to the United States and enlisting in the U.S. Army, and eventually becoming a commissioned officer. He instilled the idea of chasing your dreams and never giving up on yourself to the cadets from both the U.S. and Senegal.
