A coalition special operations forces SH-60 helicopter provides cover during a firefight in Kamdesh district, Nuristan province, Afghanistan, April 13. Afghan commandos from 3rd Company 1st Commando Kandak, partnered with coalition SOF, assaulted the insurgents in response to an unprovoked attack on a security shura at the Kamdesh district center. During the shura, insurgents killed a local national woman and an Afghan Local Policeman. The commandos killed more than 40 insurgents in the counteroffensive.
