The guided-missile destroyer USS Chung-Hoon (DDG 93) rifle detail conducts a 21-gun salute during a remembrance ceremony for the Fletcher-class destroyer USS Sigsbee (DD 502). The ceremony paid respects to the 23 sailors whose lives were lost when a kamikaze suicide plane struck Sigsbee, April 14, 1945, during the Battle of Okinawa. Chung-Hoon is named in honor of Rear Adm. Gordon Paie'a Chung-Hoon, who was awarded the Navy Cross and Silver Star for gallantry as the commanding officer of Sigsbee during the battle.
