The West Virginia Army National Guard’s (WVARNG) 77th Brigade held a historic change of command Saturday, Aug. 3, 2019, as Col. Michaelle Munger relinquished command to Lt. Col. Tanya McGonegal. West Virginia Army National Guard’s 77th Brigade Troop Command outgoing commander, Col. Michaelle Munger, is honored by Adjutant General Maj. Gen. James Hoyer following the brigade’s change of command ceremony on Saturday, Aug. 3, 2019, in Morgantown, W.Va. In the historic ceremony, Munger - the first female brigade commander in the WVARNG’s history - relinquished command to Lt. Col. Tanya McGonegal, the first female African American brigade commander.
