    26th Marine Expeditionary Unit

Gunnery Sgt. Emir Hadzic, a Bosnian native and the company gunnery sergeant for company C, 1st Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, says cultural awareness helps the Marine Corps get the mission done. The 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit is providing support to the commemoration of the Battle of New Orleans. Starting April and continuing through 2015, the Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard will commemorate the Bicentennial of the War of 1812 and the Star Spangled Banner. The War of 1812 celebration will commemorate the rich Naval history and showcase the capabilities of today's Navy-Marine Corps team. (Official Marine Corps photo by Lance Cpl. Scott L. Tomaszycki)
