Pearl Harbor, Hawaii (August 12, 2019) - Rear Admiral John Okon, Commander, Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Command (CNMOC), and AGCM Patricia Kelly, CNMOC Command Master Chief, visited the Joint Typhoon Warning Center (JTWC) on August 12, 2019. While on Oahu, Rear Adm. Okon and AGCM Kelly also met with the Senior METOC Officers at U.S. Pacific Fleet and U.S. Pacific Command, as well as the U.S. Air Force's 17th Operational Weather Squadron Commander, Lt. Col. Sarah Zimmerman, with whom JTWC works closely to provide Navy forecasters for the aviation weather detachment, and to source Air Force satellite analysts for the tropical cyclone reconnaissance mission at JTWC.
