KEYPORT, Wash. (Aug. 8, 2019) - Two digitally composited images show the clearing and leveling of land for Bldg. 1 in 1915, and the same area today in 2019 (Bldg. 1 is the red brick structure seen past the trees on the right). Completed in 1915, Bldg. 1 was the first permanent structure built for the new Pacific Coast Torpedo Station, which was founded in 1914. The Pacific Coast Torpedo Station eventually grew into the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) Division, Keyport, and Bldg. 1 is today due for renovation and a return to service as one of NUWC Division, Keyport's engineering centers.
