Navy Diver First Class Jack Dalziel of Mobile Diving and Salvage Unit One (MDSU 1) explains diving equipment to a school child on the island of Adak, Alaska, during Arctic Expeditionary Capabilities Exercise 2019. MDSU 1 was on Adak dismantling the F/V Heritage, an abandoned vessel that has blocked the island's small boat ramp for over 15 years. MDSU 1 is the U.S. Navy's premier diving and salvage force, prepared to rapidly deploy combat-ready, expeditionary warfare capable, specialized dive teams to conduct harbor and waterway clearance, emergent underwater repairs, and salvage operations in all environments.
