A U.S. sailor assigned to the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN 68) grills meats during a picnic on the pier May 3, 2012, at Naval Air Station North Island, Calif. Nimitz hosted the event to mark the 37th anniversary of the ship's commissioning. The carrier was at NAS North Island to embark Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 11 in preparation for flight deck certification.
