Captain Brian P. Cahill, 2nd Cavalry Regimental Nurse, briefs Lieutenant General Patricia D. Horoho, 43rd surgeon general of the United States Army and Commander, US Army Medical Command about the implementation of the Military Health System’s electronic health record, AHLTA, in the Troop Medical Clinic at Rose Barracks, Germany on May 09, 2012. Implementing the EHR at the TMC allows the Regiment’s medical providers to document soldier medical care, which can be viewed at any Military Medical Treatment Facility in the world. Under the new system, soldiers who require care at facilities, including Landstuhl Regional Medical Center do not have to repeat tests or hand carry paper records, saving time and money.
