NAVAL SUPPORT FACILITY REDZIKOWO, Poland (Sept. 24, 2019) – U.S. Navy Vice Adm. Jon Hill (center), director of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA), visits the Aegis Ashore Missile Defense System (AAMDS) site in Poland Sept. 26, 2019. During the site visit, Hill presented MDA command coins to Randy LaMarsna (left) and J.R. Slouffman (right), who work as Installation and Checkout Combat Systems Project Managers for the Naval Surface Warfare Center at Port Hueneme, Calif. LaMarsna and Slouffman rotate to and from Poland to monitor and manage construction progress at NSF Redzikowo. Once construction is completed, the Aegis Ashore site in Poland will expand a defensive capability that protects NATO European territories, populations and forces against ballistic missiles launched from outside the Euro-Atlantic region.
