Lt. Desmond Walker, Nuclear Programs Officer at Navy Recruiting Command, speaks to parents about an upcoming Memphis Summer science, technology, engineering, and math, or STEM, Academy 2012 for middle school students in local school systems. During the academy students will respond to a mock natural disaster by using STEM concepts to respond, rescue and restore. The Navy, including NRC will be supporting the academy with technical support, professional development and mentorship to the students.
