Army Tech 5th Grade John E. Bainbridge’s name is memorialized on the Walls of the Missing at the Manila American Cemetery in the Philippines; a rosette will be placed by his name now that his remains have been identified. Bainbridge joined the Wisconsin National Guard’s 32nd Infantry Division in 1940 and was killed in New Guinea Dec. 2, 1942; he rested unknown in Manila American Cemetery until his remains were identified via DNA analysis conducted by the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency.
