Sullivan, the small arms trainer at Officer Training Command in Newport, Rhode Island (OTCN), explains the course of fire for the M9 Beretta 9mm pistol qualification to students of Officer Candidate School (OCS) class 01-20 on Oct. 1, 2019. The qualification requires candidates to fire from 3 yards and progressing out to 15 yards, in both standing and kneeling positions. OCS develops civilians and fleet Sailors into newly commissioned officers morally, mentally, physically and imbue them with the highest ideals of honor, courage and commitment in order to prepare graduates for service in the fleet as Naval officers.
