KEYPORT, Wash. (Aug. 8, 2019) - Two digitally composited images show the construction of a railroad leading from the pier to Bldg. 1 in 1917, and the same area today in 2019 (Bldg. 1 is the red brick structure on the right). The Pacific Coast Torpedo Station was founded in 1914, and Bldg. 1, the first permanent structure, was completed in 1915. The Pacific Coast Torpedo Station eventually grew into the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) Division, Keyport, and Bldg. 1 is today due for renovation and a return to service as one of NUWC Division, Keyport's engineering centers.
