Sergeant Lindsey Garza presents the American flag to Gen. Joseph F. Dunford, Jr., the 19th chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, during his retirement, Oct. 11, in the USS Constitution Museum, Charlestown Navy Yard, Mass. Dunford, a Boston native who was also the 36th Commandant of the Marine Corps, was succeeded by 20th Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Army Gen. Mark Milley during a ceremony, Sept. 30, on Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall, adjacent to the Pentagon. The USS Constitution, dubbed “Old Ironsides,” was commissioned on October 21, 1797 and is the oldest warship in the world.
