Reilly Cloud, the new forester for the Tulsa District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers holds up a short leaf pine which is native to southeast Oklahoma. The tree has a 98 percent chance of growing back after a fire burns through as it is highly adaptive to the region. Cloud is a former USACE park ranger and a former Oklahoma State Forest Services forester who works at of the Hugo Lake Project Office in Hugo, Oklahoma.
