Tech. Sgt. Ashley Shetland serves as an occupational safety specialist with the 110th Wing, Battle Creek Air National Guard Base, Mich. She is a recent transfer into the 110th Safety office from Missouri. She is preparing to meet other squadrons to continue to build solid relationships at the 110th Wing, Oct 26, 2019.
“Safety is important to our mission because without people you have no mission and without safety you have no people.”
Shetland says she “accidentally fell into safety” after coming from the Services career field after almost eight years. She is originally from Hawaii and currently commutes almost nine hours from Missouri to serve at the 110th Wing. She loves applying risk management to her home and work life because she says it is crucial to always be prepared. (U.S. Air National Guard photo by Senior Airman Gary Leonard)
