U.S. Army Spc. Jermaine Byson, a truck driver, with the 396th Composite Truck Company, out of Fort Stewart, Georgia, gives a “high five” to a student from the special education center of the Mother Superior of the Congregation of the Sister Servants of the Immaculate Conception of the Holy Virgin Mary in Gniezno, Poland, during the Fall Festival held October 19 on Powidz Air Base, Powidz, Poland, to benefit students at the center. The festival came about as a recycling program started by U.S. Army National Guard Spc. Thomas Tkaczyk, a behavioral health specialist with the 1171st Medical Company Area Support, in which items that were being discarded by outgoing units on Powidz air base were laundered, cleaned and reused by incoming units and also donated to the center and other area charities in Poland.
