Local Iraqi workers carry slabs of concrete as they take part in transforming an abandoned building into a convention center. The new convention center is part of an economic recovery effort to get Baghdad International Airport back on the map as the gateway to Baghdad. An additional convention center, office tower and hotel are also part of the reconstruction plan.
