U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Michael Brown II, 17th Special Operations Squadron loadmaster, performs preflight inspections on a MC-130J Commando II Nov. 4, 2019, at Kadena Air Base, Japan. Preflight checks are performed as a final check to ensure the integrity of the aircraft and ensure all flight systems are operational. The MC-130J crews conduct single or multi-ship infiltration, exfiltration, and resupply of special operations forces via airdrop and air land operations, and conduct long-range refueling operations of Special Operations Forces assets.
