Larry Scruggs, U.S. Army, 1970 - 1971.
Scruggs grew up in Odessa Texas. His father taught him how to hunt and fish and it developed into one of Larry’s passions and eventually his life career.
He joined the Army Reserves with high hopes and ambition to become a tanker in the active Army, but a health problem ended his military expectations soon after he enlisted. While disappointed Scruggs moved on.
Scruggs returned to civilian life and became a successful outdoors hunting and fishing guide in Texas. He built a reputation that sustained his livelihood and allowed him to acquire hotels. He came to Boise a few years ago and married a woman he had known for about five years only through letters and phone conversations that sometimes lasted several hours. Scruggs considers her the center of his life.
