Capt. Callon L. Nichols, the communications officer for the Coordination Liaison and Assessment Team that support U.S. Marine Corps Forces, South at Marine Corps Security Cooperation Group, was promoted to his present rank, June 1. Nichols is a long-time Houston, Texas resident who graduated from M.B. Lamar High School in 2004. Nichols was commissioned in May after completing his degree from the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md.
