A Border Patrol Agent looks out from a newly installed booth which is elevated to put Agents at the level of large truck cabs as they stop for inspection at the Interstate 10 highway checkpoint operated by the Sierra Blanca Border Patrol Station. The checkpoint was temporarily closed as important safety and equipment upgrades were made in Dec. 2019. The checkpoint had two hardened booths installed to increase the safety and comfort of Border Patrol Agents. Additionally, bollards were installed to stop vehicles which depart the traffic lanes and the pavement was re-striped. (U.S. Customs and Border Protection photo/Greg L. Davis)
