Marine Corps Humvees enter Public Square in downtown Cleveland early in the morning June 11 in preparation for Marine Week Cleveland, June 11-17. The Humvees were part of a static display of vehicles set up in the heart of downtown for Marine Week. The Public Square static display is accompanied by an exhibit in Gateway Plaza. Marines drove 37 vehicles, including M1A1 Abrams tanks, light armored vehicles and other military vehicles, through the streets of Cleveland. Bringing the vehicles into the city “was flawless” thanks in large part to the support provided by Cleveland, said 1st Sgt. Ryan Legg, a first sergeant with 4th Landing Support Battalion based in Vienna, Ohio. Several demonstrations and displays will be set up as part of Marine Week to give the community a greater understanding of the Corps’ capabilities. More than 750 Marines are participating in Marine Week Cleveland.
