A Marine Corps M1A1 Abrams tank is positioned in Public Square in downtown Cleveland just before sunrise, June 11. Curious passers-by had the opportunity to witness the maneuverability of several military machines during the set-up of the static display for Marine Week Cleveland, June 11-17. A total of 37 military vehicles convoyed through downtown Cleveland. In addition to the 21 present-day vehicles, 16 Vietnam-era vehicles were staged throughout the area. More than 750 Marines will participate in Marine Week Cleveland. The city of Cleveland provided tremendous support to the Marines as they drove their vehicles through the streets, according to 1st Sgt. Ryan Legg, a first sergeant with 4th Landing Support Battalion, based in Vienna, Ohio. Legg complimented the efforts of the city of Cleveland in support of Marine Week. “The city of Cleveland has been very good to us,” he said.
