Indiana National Guard 1st Lt. Matthew Michael, of Fort Wayne and a signal officer with the 38th Infantry Division, receives his new rank during his promotion ceremony in Saudi Arabia, Monday, Oct. 21, 2019. Michael represents one of approximately 600 division soldiers who departed the Hoosier State in May to deploy to the Middle East to support Task Force Spartan that helps strengthen defense relationships and build partner capacity within the region.
