Spc. Javier Romero (right), a civil affairs specialist with the 402nd Civil Affairs Battalion out of Fort Buchanan, stands with his uncle, Lt. Col. Jorge Orlando Romero Galeano (left) for the first time in over two years. Lt. Col. Romero is an officer in the Honduran army, second in command at the Liceo Militar Del Norte, a military academy for young boys and girls. The two were able to meet again as Spc. Romero was on his two week training exercise in Honduras in support of the BTH 2012 mission. U.S. Army South, in partnership with Honduras, is conducting various engineering, medical and civic action programs, providing focused humanitarian assistance.
