    Kapaun Chapel is named after Chaplain (Capt.) Emil Joseph Kapaun, a Kansas native and posthumous recipient of the Medal of Honor. Kapaun was known to put Soldiers lives ahead of his own and in 1993 was given the title Servant of God by the Catholic Church recognizing that he is a candidate for canonization and on the path to sainthood.
