ATLANTIC OCEAN (Jan. 22, 2020) Boatswain's Mate Seaman Tremelle Tharpe, from Miami, assigned to USS Gerald R. Ford's (CVN 78) deck department, stands aft lookout on the ship's fantail as an EA-18G Growler, assigned to Air Test and Evaluation Squadron (VX) 23, approaches the ship's flight deck. Ford is currently conducting Aircraft Compatibility Testing to further test its Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch Systems (EMALS) and Advanced Arresting Gear (AAG).
