SAPPORO, Japan (Feb. 1, 2020) - Intelligence Specialist 2nd Class Joshua Miller, assigned to Commander, Task Force 72, top, and Information Systems Technician 2nd Class Elijah Karakey, assigned to U.S. Naval Computer and Telecommunications Station Far East, Detachment Misawa, add detail to the symbol commemorating the 60 years of U.S.-Japan alliance. The symbol was carved on the back of a snow statue created by the Navy Misawa Snow team during the 71st annual Sapporo Snow Festival. This is the 37th year the U.S. Navy has participated in the festival, allowing Sailors a unique opportunity to experience Japanese culture and tradition while strengthening the close friendship between the U.S. Navy and the citizens of Japan.
