Master Sgt. Steven Hernandez, assistant operations chief, Regimental Combat Team-7, receives the Meritorious Service Medal during an awards ceremony here, June 19. Colonel Austin Renforth, commanding officer, RCT-7, presented the award to Hernandez for his exceptional professional ability and devotion to duty while working for Marine Corps Tactics and Operations Group from December 2008 to January 2012. Hernandez participated in training over 300 Operations and Tactics instructors, as well as preparing five regiments and over 40 battalion-sized units for combat in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
