(Jan. 10, 2020) "My role in getting [USS Maine] back to strategic patrol is making sure every crew member that stands watch in the engine room is on the same page... making sure that we all know how to follow procedures, and are prepared to execute our training to get the ship back into the fleet and ready to execute the strategic deterrent mission," said Machinist's Mate Nuclear 1st Class Jacob Coulson, USS Maine (SSBN 741). Maine was commissioned in Groton, Connecticut, July 25, 1995. She is the 16th submarine of the Ohio-class of ballistic-missile submarines and the third U.S. Navy ship to bear the name.
