200219-N-IC246-0734 ARABIAN GULF (Feb. 19, 2020) Fire Controlman (Aegis) 2nd Class Miriam Torres, from New York, right, and Sonar Technician (Surface) 3rd Class Leo Garcia, from San Diego, pick up M9 service pistol shells off the flight deck of the guided-missile destroyer USS Forrest Sherman (DDG 98) during a practical weapons course requalification. Forrest Sherman is part of the Harry S. Truman Carrier Strike Group and is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and Pacific through the western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points.
