    200305-N-GF511-0001 (March 5, 2020) First vehicles to pass through the newly-named Knott Gate. The life and sacrifice of fallen Seabee Steelworker 3rd Class Eric L. Knott were honored at a ceremony where the main gate of Naval Base Ventura County Port Hueneme was renamed Knott Gate. Knott was killed in action by indirect fire, which also wounded three other Seabees on Sept. 4, 2004 while serving with Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 4 in Fallujah, Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
